Control.. What does it mean to you? How much control do you need? Are you in control right now? Whether you answered yes or know are you really sure about your answer? Are we ever really in control of the path we travel in life? Some days it can feel like you have the "midas touch" while others days it can feel like good luck is just a figment of the imagination. Why is control so important to us as humans? These are all rhetorical questions people, don't expect an answer to these questions at some point, cause I'm in the same boat as you. LOL. I'll state it again. Control! What does it mean to you? The answer is different for all of us because we are all different people. What brings us together are the similarities in our life experiences. Think about it for a second. The people who you have chosen to be in your inner circle likely have had similar life experiences as you. I'm not necessarily implying that you and your inner circle have walked the exact same path through life, but more so that you have similar interpretations of the situations life has thrown at you individually. Opposites definitely do attract, but when you are "in sync" with another person there is nothing like it. While you guys ponder the previously mentioned questions, I'll dive into this control thing a bit more.

Let me begin with this. My best thinking has gotten me to the place I am today. There is nothing unique about that because it's the same for all of us. However, the characteristics of control I share with you today, may be completely different a day, a week, a month from now, you guys get the picture, from the way I lay them out today at 12:09am. It's all due to a little thing known in many circles as progression which is a priority of my life. Without failures, there is no success. So in essence if you are afraid to fail you are afraid to succeed. #verifiablefacts This was one of my first lessons in control. If I wanted to succeed I would have to relinquish my control. #Message And when it comes to letting go, that usually seems to be the hardest part of the entire process. Once you let go, a lot of times, it's like a sigh of relief. You're like damn, I don't know what the f*** is about to happen, but it isn't on me now because I let go of the s***! I Let Go Of This S*** is such an important phrase to be so simple. Those 6 words in that combination usually lead to a life changing experience that follows.

All of a sudden this is the point when things are about to go only a couple ways. Either you will have the "midas touch" and will feel like you are sipping your champagne on a bed of clouds or you'll need to hire Molly The Maid to clean all of the s*** that's hitting your proverbial fan of life. Again, this is what makes letting control go so scary. You just can not predict the outcome. You can run through 100 scenarios and the actual outcome will be the 101st you didn't think about. 70% of the things most people worry about never even happen. It's tough out here so no matter what happens, the best thing you can do is ride the wave.

No matter how high or low you hit, don't jump ship. Stay the course. Life will always balance out and put you back at the even mark. The universe is very good at math so you have nothing to worry about. Jake from "Training Day" said it best while speaking with Alonzo when he said something along the lines of, "All we have are our smiles and cries. You have to control your smiles and cries cause that's all you have." he concluded. I recently finished a new book out of my personal library titled "The Hands-OFF Manager." by Steve Chandler. The author makes a reference to a statement the late great Bruce Lee made about how he was able to be the greatest fighter in the world. I'm paraphrasing but it was something along the lines of, "I'm like water. Water doesn't stress, it is always flexible and takes the form of it's container." I then glanced at the city of Houston after Harvey while flying through Houston's Hobby airport a few days ago. The water took the shape of the city which caused the city stress as Irma is threatening to do in the Caribbean and Southeastern United States. The water is collected by the storm from the ocean and placed in a new container. The water doesn't care what the circumstances are it is always ready to bend to make sure it fits in it's new container. So I say to you this, when it comes to control, be more like Bruce Lee & Water. Be flexible enough to adjust to whatever container life throws you into, while still maintaining your reputation as one of the most lethal forces on earth!
